and wall with balcony
attached to barn approx.
10m east of Harden Hall

GV II

Gate-piers, short wall and corner balcony. Late C17, probably contemporary
with additions to Harden Hall (q.v.) dated 1691. Ashlar. Tall gate-piers
with composite jambs with entablature, cornice and ball finials. Inner
face has rebate for gates; outer moulded jambs (cyma, step, roll) with
chamfered stop. To left of gates is balcony supported at front corner
by column with cyma-moulded cornice, entablature and cyma-moulded cornice
set under short parapet. This is approached up a shallow flight of 7
stone steps to rear with roll-moulded coped ramped walls to either side.
