9/68 Haxton Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, early-mid C18, extended C19. Red and blue bricks in
bands with flint and chalk chequerwork gable. Tiled roof with
crested ridge tiles. Two storeys, 5 bays, extended to left by
further 2 bays. Central 6-panelled door, the top panels glazed,
within Tuscan portico and flat entablature. Twelve-pane sashes
with gauged brick lintels, and casement windows to extension.
Moulded and dentilled plat band. Sun firemark over door. Rear
wall is of flint with brick dressings to windows, and a 2-storey
brick wing on left. Hipped roof. Three hipped dormers to rear.
Lead roofed lean-to verandah to rear elevation, now built in.
