Now 2 cottages. This was the parish workhouse, and on the north wall is a
massive red brick chimneybreast with a stone let into it inscribed "This house
was built by the parish 1779". However it is probably an earlier timber-framed
building rebuilt and refaced at that date. Two storeys and attics. Ground
floor red brick. First floor now rendered with exposed scantlings. Tiled
roof with 2 gabled dormers. Four casement windows with small square leaded
panes. Two doorcases with flat hoods over and doors of 4 fielded panels.
