Quarry worker's house. Dated 1812 for J.C. on door lintel. Coursed squared
sandstone rubble with tooled ashlar dressings and quoins; stone-flagged
roof with ashlar chimney. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central boarded door in plain
stone surround, the lintel inscribed in Roman capitals SATLEY GROVE. Plain
J C 1812
stone surrounds to 16-pane sashes in left bay; 12-pane sashes in right bay, the
lower inserted, have similar surround on first floor and concrete surround in
same style on ground floor. Low-pitched roof has right end banded chimney.
