19/88 Town Wall with Durham Tower.
(Formerly listed as City Wall)

Town wall and tower. Late C13. Large sandstone blocks. High wall, part with
walk and steeply-coped papapet; corbelled to turrets. Durham Tower: semi-
circular external wall facing Bath Lane has thin stone lintel to entrance in
north side; 2 slits on west and south; large corbels, some damaged, at top.
Interior shows ribbed barrel vault. Scheduled Ancient Monument.
