Taken 01 09 2024. This house is in England on the opposite side of the River Wye to Tintern (Wales) but within easy walking distance. The round plaque reads “An English listed building” and the name plate reads “C14th Monks Hall”. When it was up for sale it was described as the oldest building in the area. In Historic England, Jonathan Taylor wrote “By 2006 the building was in ‘a very poor and neglected state, virtually derelict and with no electricity’. It was bought by Martin Telling who set about restoring it, finally completing the restoration in 2011. The building again became two separate properties, the Malt House and the Monks Hall”
