18th century with alterations. 2 storeys. Roughcast over brick.
Plinth. Steep roof, pantiled. 2 windows, casements in flush frames at
1st floor. Sashes in flush frames and with glazing bars and cambered
heads, at ground floor. 6-panel door in wood case with pilasters and
cornice. Massive chimney, north.
All 4 sides of the Old Market contribute in varying degrees to its general
character. The Old Market is in an important position near the centre of
the town. Nos 1 to 7 (odd) form a group, and No 5 has group value with
No 5 and also No 7.
