House, now office. c1820. Black stucco with limestone
dressings, rendered lateral stacks and slate hipped roof.
Double-depth plan. Neoclassical style. 2 storeys, attic and
basement; 3-window range. A symmetrical front is divided into
3 by pilasters, the entrance set in a 2-storey
semicircular-arched recess, with paired subsidiary pilasters,
plate-glass overlight and 6-panel door; triple first-floor
central window separated by pilaster jambs, with 4/4-pane
sashes. Blind right-hand ground-floor windows, 6/6-pane sashes
in the rest, and 2 half dormers with casements. Rear elevation
has paired outer pilasters, first-floor sill band, and
ground-floor semicircular-arched recesses, the middle one
blind with a niche. The right return has a projecting stair
block with a tall narrow stair light with glazing bars.
INTERIOR: entrance hall with late C20 right-hand stair with
stone steps and iron balusters, good marble fireplaces and
cast-iron Greek Revival-style fire basket, panelled reveals to
doorways, 6-panel door and panelled shutters; ground-floor
cornices and roses; service stairwell to the right.
