Part of Common Inn (Woolstaplers Hostel). Now shop. Early C16 with C19
alterations, early C17 rear range along yard. C19 extension in Lower
Goat Lane. Rendered timber frame on flint-rubble ground floor. Brick.
Plain tiles and pantiles. Guildhall Hill facade:- 3 storeys, jettied
at first and second floors. 4 bays. 2 C19 shopfronts with left-hand
off-centre and extreme right-side doors with attached fluted and banded
Ionic columns and triglyph frieze. Sash windows throughout with glazing
bars. Heavy cornice. Decorative ridge-tiles. Lower Goat Lane facade:-
Brick covering timber-frame, 3 storeys. 4 bays, plus rendered timber-
frame gable-end. C19 shop front to left-hand 2 bays with finely carved
consoles and plain fascia. Sash windows throughout with glazing bars
and rubbed brick flat arches. One blocked second floor window. Fascia
cornice. C17 rear range 2 storeys, jettied at first floor. 4.bays.
Plain door at extreme right-hand side. Ground floor sash windows with
glazing bars and casement windows at first floor.
