Former Abbey lodge, now house. Probably early C19, possibly
with C17 origins, with addition of 1912. Coursed squared
limestone; stone slate roof; 2 hexagonal rendered stacks just
below ridge to left side. One gable to Dollar Street; one
coped gable to right side which is main facade.
Single storey and attic; 3-window range. Two 2- and one
3-light early C19 chamfered stone-mullion windows to ground
floor; one similar 3-light window in gable above. Door to
centre left has applied mouldings to form 3 vertical panels in
chamfered stone surround with Tudor-arched head. Shallow
plinth; moulded string over ground floor and over window in
gable; flush quoins to left angle.
Dollar Street elevation has 6/6-pane horned sash in plain
reveal to ground floor; similar window in gable above. This
elevation 1912 when lodge extended from left of gable on right
return facade towards Dollar Street.
INTERIOR not inspected; probably altered 1912.
Short section of attached wall to right of facade has blind
doorway in similar surround; further short section of attached
wall to right at right angle to facade has 4-panel door
similar to lodge door in plain reveal with chamfered
Tudor-arched head formed in render.
Wall and attached gatepier to right are approximately 2.5m
high with deep weathered coping (cf Abbey Wall, Gosditch
Street).
