Public house. c1600 refronted c1800. Painted brick with
internal timber-frame; slate roof with brick rear stack.
Georgian style. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Centre
breaks forward under pediment. Top modillioned brick cornice.
Entrance to right of central window both under long lintel
with key and label mould, flanking bay windows and
segmental-headed entrance to left end; all doors and
ground-floor windows are C20 replacements. 1st floor has
segmental-headed windows with 12-pane sashes in moulded
frames; pediment has small-paned lunette window, one of many
in Stratford. Sign bracket with good wrought-iron cresting.
INTERIOR: exposed timber-framing and chamfered beams.
