Manor house, now farmhouse. Early-mid C16 with late C16/early C17 additions and alterations, altered and extended C20. 3-unit lobby entry plan. Timber framed, rendered, porch and stair turret of coursed squared ironstone, bay window of brick with limestone dressings, Swithland slate roof, ironstone lateral stack, cruciform brick ridge stack. 2-storey, 4- window range. 2-storey, gabled porch to right of centre with Tudor-arched stone doorway and 3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window above with hood mould. Large canted bay window of c1900 to right of porch. 2-light casement windows to ground floor left of porch with wavy ornamental rendered surround, rendered sills and hood moulds. 3-light casements to 1st floor with similar surrounds. Late C16/early C17 2-storey canted bay window to right end elevation with ovolo-moulded limestone mullion windows of 3 lights to front, 2 lights to sides, that to left side converted to door C20, that to ground floor front blocked; hipped slate roof. Frame is exposed to left end wall against which a massive ironstone stack has been built; brick infill. Frames appears to have large square panels. Large stone stair turret projects to rear behind porch. 2-storey extension of c1900 to rear right. Interior: Open-well staircase with openwork 4-sided pointed finials and pedants and vertically symmetrical turned balusters. Stairs runs from Cellar to attic. 3-bay roof has clasped principals to collar trusses and wind-braced purlins. Ogee stop-chamfered spine beams. Building of England Leics 1984 p368.
