Chest tomb. c.1830. Ashlar. In Neo-Classical style. Roll-moulded base
stone. Plinth. Attached Tuscan columns support entablature. Segmental-
sectioned lid with segmental pediments to ends and to centre of each long side,
all with fans in tympana. Pulvinated oval panel to each side with fluted edge
and fans to spandrels, panels on longer sides flanked by columns with rustica-
tion either side. Inscription on south panel commemorates 'Sarah the beloved
wife of Mr Edmund Pontife x London', d.1830, with rest of inscription worn.
North-west column fallen and monument ivy-covered at time of survey.
