Pleasant terrace of small houses built between 1851 and 1855 but in character
dating from about 30 years before. 3 storeys and basement with area origin-
ally though this is concealed in the case of the houses of which the ground
floor has been converted into shops. 2 windows each. Stuccoed. String-
course above ground floor. Doric pilasters from 1st to 2nd floor. Above
cornice and parapet. Nos 11 to 16 have an extra storey with a balustrade in
front of the top floor windows, no pilasters, and a 2nd stringcourse above
the 1st floor. Iron balconies on 1st floor. Architraves with consoles
above 1st floor windows. Ground floor windows have segmental heads. Most
glazing bars intact. Round-headed doorways in moulded frames. Nos 2, 5,
7, 10, 12 and 16 remain private dwelling houses and are as designed. No
11 has a contemporary curved shop window with small square panes and cornice
over. The remaining houses have modern shop fronts.
