King's Sergeant under Henry VI & Edward IV, Chief Justice of the Common Pleas 1468; 'pray for the souls of Thomas Billyng, Knight, former Chief Justice of the Common Pleas for the lord the King, and Katherine, his wife, which same Thomas died the fifth day of May in the year of our Lord ..., and the said Katherine died the eighth day of March in the year of our Lord 1479, on whose souls may God have mercy, Amen'
