Ice House Approximately 150 Metres to South West of Wortley Hall

A Grade II Listed Building in Wortley, Barnsley

Ice chute and turret of ice house at Wortley Hall

Uploader's Comments

Only the chute and the turret are visible, everything else is buried under the insulating mound of earth. Entry to the ice house was solely by ladder from the turret, and the ice would remain frozen right through to the following September.
