SK1109NE THE CLOSE 1094-1/5/220 (West side) Lamp post to south side of West Front of Cathedral

GV II

Lamp post. c1880. Cast- and wrought-iron. Moulded plinth to fluted post with twisted top section; cluster of 4 shafts with finials and scrolled enrichment. Lantern has scrolled base and tracery heads to sides and canted angles, cresting and glazed pyramidal cap with lantern. Small post with ?valve to side. Originally connected to lamp post to north by enriched iron railings.
