Pair of houses, now clinic and house. Early C19, altered late C19. Watershot coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings and hipped slate roof. Double-depth plan, with the doorways (and the staircases) in the centre and chimneystacks between front and back rooms. The building has, on both the main and side facades, 2 storeys with a deep plinth, a first-floor sill band, a plain frieze, moulded cornice, and low blocking course. The main front has 2 bays per house with ashlar quoins right and left. The doorways occupy the central bays and are recessed and paired under 3 unfluted Greek Doric columns carrying a plain entablature, the right-hand door is panelled with an overlight containing geometrical glazing bars. The left-hand windows of No.1 have plain stone surrounds and 12-pane sashes, while No.2 has on the right a later C19 2-storey square bay window. The facade to the left, facing west, has 3 bays, with a central bow of ashlar which has 3 windows per storey, of which the central one on the ground floor has been altered to form a French window. The windows in the side bays have plain stone surrounds; all have 12-pane sashes, those in the bow being curved in plan. INTERIOR: No.1 has a central hall with 2 bowed walls. The rear bow enfolds a geometrical staircase, but has been altered by the insertion of partition walls.
