Town house. Early C19, or possibly remodelling of older house.
Incised stucco, on rubble; with rusticated quoins and moulded
hoods on brackets; rag slate roof, hipped return to entrance
front on the left; moulded eaves and cast-iron ogee gutters.
Double-depth plan at right-angles to street. 2 storeys;
3-window-range entrance front. Original tripartite hornless
sashes with glazing bars; blind window to 1st floor left and
late C19 canted bay window to ground floor right. Central
round-arched doorway with 6-pane over 2-panel door, spoked
fanlight; porch with boxed-in granite Tuscan columns,
entablature with modillions; later glazed porch sides. Street
elevation is 2 storeys and 3 storeys; 1:2-window range:
tripartite sashes on left and to ground floor right, all with
late C19 horned sashes, most with consoles and hoods.
INTERIOR: original open-well staircase with open string;
original ceiling cornices and doors where inspected.
