2 houses. C16 core with early C19 reconstruction and C20
refurbishment. Timber-framed and plastered, peg-tiled roof. L
shaped plan of street range with 2 conjoined C20 additions. 2
storeys, attics and cellar. Front, N elevation: 2 window, 2
door range, doors to centre. C20 pargetting panels, fan combed
at No.28, No.26 applied detail of fleur-de-lys, lions heads
and rosettes, also bishop in gabled niche. No.26, C20 boarded
door with decorative hinges, adjacent, C20 4-light casement
window with leaded panes, similar first floor window above.
No.28 has 6 panel door, upper 2 glazed, lower fielded,
adjacent small 3-cant bay window on central bracket, glazing
bars, 5x3 panes, first floor C19 2-light sliding sash window,
glazing bars, 6x3 panes. Rear, S elevation: all details C20.
No.26, full width clay tiled lean to, No.28 partial ground
floor lean-to, plain doors and 2-light casement window, first
floor, one single and one 2-light casement, 2 sky lights.
INTERIOR: No.26, considerable imitation timber framing but C16
outer members, jowled posts, tie-beams and rails of house unit
evident. Cellar remains. No.28 has post medieval slender
ceiling joists.
