Duke of York Public House

GV II

Public house. Early C19. Of painted brick with hipped asbestos
slate roof with 3 gault brick stacks. 2 storeys. Front has
wide outer and pair of narrower central pilasters with moulded
capitals. The bay to the E has a 2 storey projecting brick bow
with cornice and 3 linked 12 paned double-hung sash windows on
each floor. Between the central pilasters, over door is a 12
pane double-hung sash, door with rectangular fanlight and 2
stone steps with wrought-iron handrails. The W bay has one 12
pane double-hung sash on first floor over a small paned
tripartite double hung sash and later plain double hung sash
window.
