House. Early/mid C19, set on sloping ground between Market Row
and Butchers Row. Red brick, some burnt headers, slate roof.
Rectangular plan. 2 and 3 storeys. S front elevation to Market
Row. Brickwork has ruddled mortar with white tuck pointing. 3
storey, 3 window range, windows have thin glazing bars.
Principal ground floor on middle storey with central front
door approached by 5 steps, doorcase panelled and with simple
outer pilasters and cornice hood, overlight, door of 6 panels.
Windows each side are 3-cant bays continued down to lower
`basement' level with pavement where now boarded in. Stucco
string between floors. `Ground' floor windows are sashes with
glazing bars, 1x4, 3x4, 1x4 panes. First (top) floor windows
have stucco vousssoirs and outer windows have stucco shaped
aprons to bay windows below, sashes with glazing bars, each
3x3 panes. Gable ridge stacks set at E and W ends. Rear N
elevation to Butchers Row. 2 storey, 3 window range, brickwork
has scored pointing, well made brick voussoirs. Central
doorway, overlight, door of 4 flush bead moulded panels, sash
windows, 3x4 panes, some with original glass. INTERIOR plain.
