GV II
Garden buildings in kitchen garden. 1839 datestone to central
stables. By George Wightwick. Granite ashlar stables with
heavy moulded parapet cornice with central datestone,
otherwise killas rubble, corrugated asbestos hipped roof to
part right of stables. Long rectangular overall plan.
Single-storey 2-window range flanked by 2-storey 2-window
ranges. Central part has original 16-pane hornless sash and
central doorway (boarded up at time of survey). Building on
right has original 16-pane sash over C20 window on the left
and mid-floor C20 window on the right. Other block has
repaired original leaded casements with pointed-arched lights.
INTERIOR: Original floor and roof structure to left-hand part;
central part altered, otherwise not inspected. Lismore (qv)
and its gardens, situated in the centre of Helston, make an
important contribution to the townscape.
