Town house. Probably C17 or early C18. Granite and other local
rubble with some granite dressings and timber lintels; steep
asbestos slate roof behind rubble and granite-coped parapet;
rubble stack on left, rendered stack on right. Double-depth
plan. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window front. Central late C18
or early C19 bowed oriel with small panes, moulded entablature
and moulded apron over pilastered doorway, of similar date,
with moulded entablature and original 6-panel door with top 2
panels later glazed; other windows are early C19. 16-pane
hornless sashes except for C20 horned copy to ground floor
right. Rear elevation has slatehanging to 1st floor and large
flight of granite steps with original iron balustrade.
INTERIOR: granite-flagged cross-passage to C18 dogleg
staircase with closed string and column-turned balusters;
original stair cupboard door with H hinges and adjoining C18
two-panel door planked at its back.
