Row of 3 cottages, now 2 dwellings. c.1800, slightly altered.
Red brick in English garden wall bond (5+1), with sandstone
dressings and composition tile roof. Shallow double-depth,
plan, each cottage single-fronted. Two low storeys, 2+2+2
windows; 3 plain doorways with wedge lintels and now with
panelled doors; one square window to the right of each
doorway, all 2-light horizontal sliding sashes with 15 small
panes in each leaf; at 1st floor, one similar above each of
these and a 25-pane fixed window above the doorway; all these
windows with raised sills and wedge lintels. Two ridge
chimneys. HISTORY: probably associated with former handloom
weaving shop (No.58, q.v.) to the left. Unusually intact
survival. Forms group with this, and with No.50 adjoining to
the right (q.v.).
