Garden wall. Late C18/early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond.
From the service range of Jericho Priory (qv), where it forms
the N side of a lean-to greenhouse, it extends approximately
58m to the ESE, where it turns S for 3m, with a square pier at
the end. Plain on the S side, it has on the N side a step of
approximately 0.04m 4 courses above ground level, and plain
piers at irregular intervals. Height approximately 3m. Plain
coping of bricks on edge. Seperates the private garden from
the present entrance drive to Ingatestone Road; before c1920
the vehicle entrance was from Church Street. One arched foot
entrance near W end, blocked by treble garage to N, and one
C20 foot entrance immediately E of garage, rebuilt above
timber lintel.
