GV II

House. C18, extended in C19 and C20. Red brick in Flemish
bond, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Double range plan
facing NW, with 2 stacks in right side, and one C19 external
stack at left side of front range. 2-storey flat-roofed
extension at left side, single-storey lean-to to rear of it,
and C20 bow to left of both. External stack to rear left, and
enclosed by single-storey lean-to. C20 apsidal conservatory to
rear right.
2 storeys. Ground floor, 2 casements of 15 lights with fluted
jambs, shallow canopy on brackets, and louvred external
shutters. First floor, 3 similar casements. Central 6-panel
door, fanlight with geometrical tracery, doorcase with fluted
jambs and panelled reveals, open pediment on brackets with urn
and rosettes. 2 wrought-iron handrails each with 3 iron
stanchions. C20 metal plate embossed `1750' over doorcase. 2
S-shaped iron tie plates. Firemark with portcullis and
fleur-de-lys crest, No.27549, attached to front elevation to
left of door. Plain parapet at front, sides and back. The
right elevation has on the ground floor a C20 bow, and on the
first floor a casement similar to those at the front; the
front right stack has tumbled courses at the shoulders. The
rear elevation has on the first floor one similar casement,
and in the middle a casement with marginal lights and
semicircular head.
