Former fire station. c1860. Red brick, with blue and white
brick and ashlar dressings, and hipped slate roof with various
brick stacks. 2 storeys; 5-window range. Ground-floor windows
are boarded-up. 5 blocked round-headed windows with decorative
coloured brick sill band and impost band. Below, central
round-headed window flanked on either side by segment-headed
carriage arches, and beyond, single round-headed windows. All
these openings have coloured brick bands and heads. Left
carriage arch has carved horses' heads on the impost blocks
and keystone. Right arch has firemens' heads in the same
positions.
