Entrance lodges. c1840. Limestone ashlar, lateral and ridge
stacks and slate hipped and gabled roof. Greek cruciform
single-depth plan lodges at either end with entrance gates
between. Neoclassical style. Single storey; 6-window range.
Gabled lodges have broad pilasters to a frieze, banded
elevations under overhanging eaves; windows set in recessed
surrounds, narrow flanking 2/2-pane and central 6/6-pane
sashes. Linking roofs above a frieze of animals, and a central
pedimented booth with open octagonal side windows. INTERIOR
not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached squared rubble
side walls with cast-iron railings and central cast-iron gate.
