Pair of attached houses. Mid C19. Limestone ashlar with party
wall and lateral stacks, roof not visible. Double-depth plan.
Neoclassical style. Each of 2 storeys, attic and basement;
2-window range. A symmetrical front has narrow side entrance
blocks set back, giant pilasters to a Doric entablature, and
pilasters to a coped attic storey. Steps with attached
balusters up to open porches with pilasters and a balustrade,
to 2-panel doors and overlights with diagonal glazing bars.
Segmental-headed tripartite ground-floor windows set on a
raised panel, a fine carved Vitruvian scroll moulding to the
architrave; raised first-floor tripartite windows with
pediments and bracketed balconies with bowed cast-iron
railings. 6/6-pane left-hand sashes, 3/6-panes with margin
bars to the right-hand attic, 4/4-panes to windows above
doorways. INTERIOR not inspected.
