Description

WOODFORD CUM MEMBRIS POOL STREET
SP5352 (South side)
Hinton
17/146 Bromleys Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. C17 extended and altered, C18 and C20. Coursed squared ironstone,
slate roofs, brick ridge end stacks on stone bases. 2 storeys and attic;
4-window range. Blocked central door with straight stone lintel. Irregular
fenestration with 3-light stone mullion window with hood mould to far right,
with a similar 2-light window to first floor above. A single storey projection
with lean-to slate roof to left, perhaps belonging to bread oven. Other 2 and
3-light casement windows with timber lintels. A C19 canted bay window to left of
blocked door. Left half of range is higher and has stone coped gables. A
straight joint to middle of this section probably marks original extent of C17
farmhouse raised and extended left mid C18. Interior has stop-chamfered spine
beams. Entrance to rear in C20 extension.
