Public House. C16-C17 of several builds with later additions and alterations. Timber-
framed, rendered, on brick plinth, with brick casing to right gable end and rear.
Brick stacks and extensions. Plain tile roofs. T-shaped range with extensions to
rear. 2 storeys and cellar. Off-centre lobby entrance in slightly recessed bay.
C19 door. 4 C20 casements to 1st floor. Ridge and external stack to right gable
end. Left gable end has 2-strong canted bay with casement windows. Bargeboards
to gable. To rear, gabled cross wing largely concealed by later additions. Interior:
room to left, spine beam, part ovolo moulded, part chamfered and stopped, with
tenoned-in joists. Beam with bar stop. 1st floor sections of framing visible
including jowled posts, one chamfered tie beam and wall plates. Roof inaccessible.
Roof to left has 'barrel vaulted' ceiling.
