The Cottage
at Draycott
House
GV II

Stableblock and coach house, now house. Late C18 converted
c1950. Red brick with stone and gauged brick dressings, stone
plinth, continuous stone band at impost level and moulded stone
cornice. Hipped plain tile roof with brick ridge stack and
weatherboarded octagonal cupola with ogival roof to centre. Two
storeys and five bays, central bay slightly advanced and
pedimented. West elevation has central full height, semi-
circular headed archway with moulded stone arch and plain brick
jambs, filled in by C20 glazed screen with large fanlight to
top. To either side there are two full height, blind semi-
circular headed recesses with gauged brick arches, those nearest
to the central bays have 2-light segment headed casements within
and outer recesses have canted bay windows within. Above in the
central pediment is a bull's eye window with four keyblocks to
stone surround. Rear elevation has a similar pedimented central
bay with rusticated semi-circular arch below and similar bull's
eye window above. Included for group value only.
