9/35 Littlefield Farmhouse

Hall house, now house. Mid C16, altered early C17, altered and extended mid C20. Timber
frame with brick infill, old tile gabled roof. Rectangular plan of 2 framed bays with
one framed bay stair turret at rear and early C20 extension to left. 2 storeys.
External chimney at each end, with clay pots. C19 casement windows. Entrance (east)
front: one 2-light window and one 3-light window on first floor. Similar but larger
windows, on ground floor, with small lean-to roof projection between in position of
former door. Interior: newel stair in rear turret. Former hall in southern bay with
inserted floor of plain chamfered joists. Old window opening on ground floor of 2 lights
with diamond mullions and shutter grooves. Similar window on first floor but of 4
lights. Queen post roof which clasped purlins and long curved windbraces. The C20
extension on the left is of no special interest.
