House. 1893 by Mervyn Macartney in free Tudor style. Red brick to front,
timber frame with brick infill, some in herringbone pattern, to rear. Plain
tiled roofs, with tall stack to rear and right. T plan with projecting wing
to right end. 2 storeys on entrance front, ground dropping to left allowing
3 storeys on left hand return front.
Entrance front: 2 storey bay window on end of wing to right, irregular wood
mullioned fenestration with 3 windows on first floor to right, one to left in
angle bay rising through 2 floors. 2 storey entrance porch with parapetted
gable to left; stone arched surround to planked door. Further door to right in
3 storey gabled projection in re-entrant angle of wing. Left hand return front:
parapetted stone coped gable with 3 light mullion window on 2nd floor. 2 single,
stone dressed windows to first floor. Wide raised brick arch to ground floor
with centre keystone, wooden centring and panelling. 2 small wooden flanking
with wall battering to left. Red brick retaining wall to right with stone coping
continuing across front as courtyard wall ending as two square stone copied piers
to centre.
