Pair of attached houses. c1860, altered in C20. Timber-framed,
weatherboarded, roofed with slate. Rectangular plan facing SW,
with 3 internal stacks symmetrically arranged along the party
wall. No.144 is the left house, No.146 is the right house.
No.144 has on the ground floor one original tripartite sash
with horns, and on the first floor one original sash of 6+6
lights. C20 door. In the left elevation it has one similar
sash on each floor, and a 4-panel door. No.146 has on the
ground floor one tripartite sash in similar style, without
horns, and on the first floor one C20 casement. C20 door. In
the right elevation it has two C20 casements on the ground
floor and one on the first floor. Hipped roof. The distinctive
quality of this building is in its simplicity and absence of
later extensions.
