Town house. c1798. For Richard Coulson, lessee. Local
freestone ashlar front, asbestos slate roof with brick end
stacks. Double-depth plan with central entrance hall and 2
rooms at the front. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window front.
Plinth; central round-arched doorway with recessed architrave,
6-panel door and spoked fanlight. Shallow segmental arches
with projecting keyblocks over C20 horned sashes with glazing
bars. Rear has round-arched spoked stair window. INTERIOR:
moulded, and carved plaster ceiling cornices and bands,
doorcases with panelled beaded pilasters and entablature and
with similar detail to 6-panel doors and panelled shutters;
open-well open-string stair with mahogany handrail over stick
balusters with tall plinths. 1st floor not inspected.
