TRURO

SW8244NE PYDAR STREET
880-1/7/224 (South West side)
19/06/73 No.8

GV II

House, now shop. C18 or possibly older. Slate-hung gable end
to front otherwise painted rubble and rendered upper floor to
rear wing; steep asbestos slate roof. Deep plan end on to the
street. Low 2-storey street gable end has central early C18
twelve-pane horizontal sliding sash breaking into gable over
early C19 shop front with reeded pilasters and small panes.
INTERIOR: remains of former use as a butcher's including a
floor drain and meat hooks; open to the boarded underside of
the roof structure at the front. The surviving C18 window is a
rare type of this date, one of only a few such examples left
in Cornwall. The early C19 shop front is also a rare survival.
