Stable block at Park Farmhouse

GV II

Stable. Late C18 or early C19. Coursed lias, tile roof. A
compact half-hipped free-standing block approx 15m S of the
barns range (qv).
2 storeys, with hay loft above stable, and one-storey lean-to
to the E side. Entrance side has 2 square 2-light openings to
segmental heads, and a wide plank door with lintel under a
narrower blocked segmental arch; brick saw-tooth eaves this
side. The S return has a loading door first floor centre, and
to the N is a later added open lean-to. The lean-to to the E,
under the swept-down roof with brick dentil eaves, has a door
at the S end, which is slightly set back.
INTERIOR: floored for half its width, on a very heavy beam. An
integral part of a good farm group.
