Terrace of 4 town houses, Nos 3 and 6 now offices. c.1850. Red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan, all single-fronted and built in halls-adjoining pairs, with coupled back extensions. Two storeys over cellars, 1+2+2+2 windows, with stone plinth, string course, plain frieze, moulded cornice and low blocking course. In the centre of each pair, up 3 and 2 steps respectively, is a coupled doorcase with 3 engaged Ionic columns and continuous entablature with cornice and blocking course, framing doors with round-headed panels and plain overlights, and in the centre of the terrace (between Nos 4 and 5) a through-lobby doorway with moulded stone surround and cornice, and a door with wreath knocker. At ground floor each house has one tall window with a raised sill on sill-blocks, and a wedge lintel, that at No.6 sashed without glazing bars but all the others with altered glazing; at 1st floor No.3 has one and Nos 4 to 6 each have 2 similar windows, those at No.4 with 12-pane sashes but the others with altered glazing. C20 dormers in the roofs of Nos 4 and 5, small gabled dormer at No.6; large lateral chimney stack in centre. Stone plinths enclosing cellar areas, that at No.6 still bearing elaborate cast-iron railings. Left return wall of No.3 has 2 windows on each floor like those at the front, and gable treated as an open pediment, with a smaller attic window. Rear and INTERIOR not inspected.
