Stable block. Late C18 and later. Red brick, peg-tiled roofs.
The stables form 3 sides of a courtyard on NW side of the
hall. NE and NW sides have central 2-storey cross-wings with
open pediments with elliptical arched entrance ways and bull's
eye windows with gauged brick voussoirs. The SW side has an
end bay of similar design with 7 loose boxes, now garages, on
the ground floor. NE section of NW side converted to cottages.
Harness rooms and other offices on NE side. 4 cottage windows,
segment headed, plain reveals, sashes with glazing bars, 3x4
panes. Kelvedon Hall (qv), the Lodge (qv), the stable block,
the orangery and garden wall (qv) form a group.
