Abbey outbuildings, converted to farmhouse at west end mid
C19, remainder used as farm buildings, now store. Late C13
timber-framed structure with C19 flint skin and gault brick
dressings. Re-used medieval fragments and coursed clunch also.
Thatched roof with some slate.
One storey and attic, formerly one storey. North side with two
C19 cart entrances under segmental heads and three C19
doorways with overlights and skewback arches. Gabled roof with
2 gabled dormers to east end. Ridge stack left of centre and 2
stacks at west end, one on each roof slope. South side with
more coursed clunch, one blocked cart entrance and various C19
windows. 2 gabled dormers to east. West gable provides
entrance to farmhouse: central door flanked by one sash with
6/6 glazing either side. 3 similar first-floor sashes.
INTERIOR: house with stick baluster staircase. Centre third of
house with surviving evidence of a C13 aisled hall structure:
arcade posts with arched braces to tie beams and arcade
plates. Queen posts on the tie beams with arched braces to
collars and purlins. Very heavy scantling. Eastern third with
2 remaining arcade posts embedded in later partition walls.
