GV II

Terrace of 3 houses. c1830. Stucco over rubblestone or brick,
stone coping to gable ends of slate roof with bracketed eaves;
ashlar and rendered stacks to gable ends and party walls.
Double-depth plan, each with central stairhall. 2 storeys with
semi-basement; No.22 with central porch is 2-window range,
flanked by Nos 20 and 24 of 3-window range with outer canted
bays. The composition is terminated by canted bays with
2-light casement windows, surmounted by trellised cast-iron
balcony railings; first-floor French windows open onto the
balconies. 6/6-pane sash windows to the rest of the first and
second floors, casement windows to the basements; C20
flat-roofed dormers, 2 with slate-hung and boarded cheeks to
No.20 to the right, one with boarded cheeks to No.24 to the
left. Panelled doors with overlights, No.22 has a Tuscan
porch. No.20 has a single light window over the entrance door.
The terrace is of similar composition to Nos 26, 28 and 30
(qv). INTERIORS not inspected.
