Terraced houses. Nos 1-3 and 389 City Road c.1800, nos 4-5
c.1814. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, stucco dressings,
mansard roofs of Welsh and artificial slate. Four storeys over
basement, two windows each; no 389 City Road has an additional
double-fronted three-window range to City Road. Basement and
ground floor of no 389 City Road stuccoed, the ground floor
decorated with banded rustication. Round-arched entrance;
engaged Greek Doric columns to no 389 City Road with cornice
and fanlight; nos 1-5 Colebrooke Row have pilasters, with
rosette stops to nos 1-2, none to no 3 and lion-head stops to
nos 4-5; fanlight, with decorative glazing to nos 1-3;
panelled doors of original design. Ground-floor windows
round-arched, with gauged brick heads to nos 1-5; upper
windows flat-arched with gauged brick heads; nos 389 City Road
and 1-3 Colebrooke Row have a continuous bracketed balcony
with iron railings to first floor; nos 4-5 Colebrooke Row have
individual iron balconies and windows set in recessed
round-arched panels with gauged brick heads. 6/6 sashes of
original design, with radiating glazing bars to ground floor,
to nos 1, 2 (ground and second floors), and 3. Parapet;
dormers in roof; stacks to party walls. Cast-iron railings to
area of nos 2 and 4-5; scrolled wrought-iron overthrow
lampholder to nos 2-4.
