Formerly known as: Pair of Houses adjoining Old Manor House on
East BRIDEWELL STREET.
Pair of houses. Early C17. Timber-framed probably with a brick
underbuilt jetty. Pantile roof. 2 storeys. Each house of 2
bays plus a central door, the disposition the result of C19
re-working. 2 panelled doors with C19 cases and hoods. Each
door flanked by one 3-light casement right and left, those to
No.6 early C19, others C20. Two 2-light early C19 casements
light first floor of No.6, matching pair to No.8 are C20.
Gabled roof. Central ridge stack on moulded plinth. INTERIOR.
Timber-frame with corner tension braces and jowled studs.
Chamfered and tongue-stopped bridging beams. Fireplace and
stairs to No.8 are C20. Roof largely replaced but lower of 2
tiers butt purlins remain with arched windbracing.
