Symmetrical pair of houses. c1840. Stucco with hipped slate
roof. 2 storeys; 6-window range, ends break forward.
Double-depth plan. Sill course to 1st floor, top frieze and
wide eaves. Most windows sashed; ground floor has altered
window with 12-pane tripartite sash to left end, 12-pane
sashes to left of centre, French windows to right of centre,
right end has 12-pane tripartite window with narrow
colonnettes and paired pilasters, frieze and cornice; 1st
floor has incised pilaster strips and friezes to windows with
9-pane sashes, horned sash to left end, French window with
wrought-iron balcony to right end. 3 cross-axial stacks, that
to centre with cornice. 3-window right return has elements
breaking forward flanking entrance: windows to ground floor
have architraves, friezes and cornices over 12-pane sashes,
1st floor windows have 9-pane sashes with 12-pane sash to
wing; entrance has porch with paired narrow pilasters, frieze
and cornice. Left return similar, but windows with moulded
sills to 1st floor, some later sashes; entrance with
architrave and Ionic portico. Later extensions to rear.
