Terrace of 6 houses.c.l830. Stone with slate roof. 2
storeys with attic storey and basement, 3 bays to each
house, but end of 2 bays. Ground floor has channelled
rustication. 1st floor sill bands, frieze and cornice over
1st floor, top frieze, cornice and blocking course. End
houses break forward and have giant angle pilasters with
unorthodox, basically Corinthian capitals with wreaths on
frieze above; attic storey has paired flat pilasters,
pediments have wreaths and acroteria. Ground floor windows
have flat, panelled architraves and panelled architraves and
panelled aprons. End windows have consoled pediments. 1st
floor windows have panelled architraves, attic windows have
recessed reveals. Windows sashed, most with glazing bars.
Porches to entrances have antae with honeysuckle capitals
and acroteria; those to Nos. 12 and 14 are paired. 1/2
glazed doors have complete overlights. Iron area railings
have spear heads. Nos. 8 and 10 have iron 1st floor
balconies. A fine terrace which contributes to one of the
best streets in the city.
