GV II

House and attached wall. Early C19. Incised stucco on rubble
to front; slatehanging to left-hand return; grouted scantle
slate hipped roof; brick end stacks. L-shaped plan plus later
rear outshut. 2 storeys; symmetrical 2-window front. C20
windows original 4-panel door plus overlight. Left-hand return
has 5 original 12-pane hornless sashes. INTERIOR: virtually
complete; original features include staircase with stick
balusters and ramped handrail; 4-panel doors; most rooms with
chimneypieces with iron grates. Subsidiary features: Left-hand
side of house is built over a high rubble retaining wall which
continues as garden wall at front and rear. Road frontage wall
terminates at rear right-hand corner of property with a round
end capped by a large round domed granite coping stone.
