Walls, piers and gates to Central
Methodist Church

GV II

Walls, piers, and gates to Central Methodist Church. 1903. By
TE Davidson of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Rock-faced stone with
ashlar dressings and piers; wrought-iron gates. Low walls of
coursed rock-faced stone have chamfered ashlar coping and step
up to high sections at intermediate positions and flanking
gate piers. Gate and angle piers are ashlar, square and have
plinths and coped gabled coping. Wrought-iron gates to church
and to hall (qv) have Art Nouveau central panels.
