The Griffin Public House

II

Public House. Early to mid C19 Worsley estate building in
Gothic style. Built of Isle of Wight stone rubble with slate
roof and 3 clustered stone chimneystacks. 2 storeys 3 windows.
2 projecting end gables with fretted wooden bargeboards,
pendants and finials. Centre section has smaller gabled dormer
with similar treatment. Stone mullioned windows of C17 type.
Plinth. Central 4 centred arched doorcase, flanked by side
lights and with Worsley crest above. C20 additions, not of
special interest.
